It seems these Designo cars are somewhat of a love it or hate it kind of thing. For us, it's a love it for sure. Listed in Gaithersburg, MD is this 2001 CLK55 AMG in Designo Mocha Black over Designo Espresso Leather. It's truly a stunning combination and is one of the more rare color options found on the w208. To make things even better, this is a one-owner example with an extremely low 36k miles. It's worth noting the designo edition was an additional $6,050 option. The car remains largely original with the exception of 18" w210 AMG monoblock wheels (original wheels are same style in 17"). All pixels work on the gauge cluster and the original designo floor mats still accompany the car. The leather is in excellent condition and have held up remarkably well. In addition, the designo maple woodgrain shows no fading or cracking.
In addition to a full AMG appearance package featuring upgraded interior, bumpers, skirts, and wheels, the CLK55 received a healthy amount of performance upgrades including more power, stiffer suspension, and performance exhaust. The paint remains retains it's shine with no visible blemishes. Under the hood, the m113 5.4 liter engine appears tidy and well maintained. With 342 hp and 376 lb-ft of torque, the CLK55 was capable of a sprint to 60mph in 5.2 seconds.
The seller is asking a reasonable $22,000 for the car which is a great value. These low mileage examples are slowly appreciating in values, following the lead of the w210 AMGs. We're confident the next owner will be more than pleased with this rare designo edition AMG.
