Last weeks CLK63 Black Series sparked a decent debate on our Instagram page and we’re always after a good “price vs value” debate. Even better, like the last Black Series, this one has received more than 20k USD in aftermarket add-ons, this time from Kleemann. These cars are settling nicely into a new price zone after they seemingly hit their trough 4 or 5 years ago. This 2008 CLK63 Black Series can be found listed here on Craigslist for $99,880 and shows almost 23k miles on the odometer.
We already know the basics, limited run, homologated special from AMG getting harder to find in the open market and appreciating well in its current state. This car is finished in the rarer of two Silvers, Iridium over Anthracite Leather. It’s offered, as most are, with all books, keys, records, and a spotless history.
Unlike the Renntech car last week, this CLK63 has over $23,000 in performance Kleemann parts. This includes Kleemann long tube headers, high flow throttle bodies, ECU upgrade, Euro spec air boxes and limited slip differential. In addition to these Kleemann parts, the brake rotors were upgraded with light weight Evosport rotors (all around) with stainless steel brake lines. Also installed are 12mm wheel spacers front and rear with a forged wheel stud conversion kit. The wheels were powder coated black with the face machined back to silver and then entire wheel clear coated- a look we don’t hate but much prefer the original finish. Front side signals painted Iridium Silver to match body and a front and rear radar/laser detector has been installed into the dashboard/console.
The seller offers more than 100 photos of this car if you’re a serious buyer and even though we’re not, we’d love to check out that folder. These cars are definitely on the upswing and a pristine stock example may be racing to the top of that chart but the downside is that you won’t be able to drive it as AMG intended. This one, just might have a shot of retaining value while you push it through canyons on the weekends.
