This 1990 560SEC has a period correct, stamped AMG body kit. Located in Louisville, KY, the car only has 80,000 miles with an asking price of $11,000. Given the car does need a fair amount of cosmetics on the exterior to bring it up to par, the interior does appear above average with no crack in the dash or woodgrain. The 560's are certainly going up in value, especially the coupes. This is a genuine US spec with the elongated bumpers which many regard as less desirable than Euro specs. Still, the body kit is authentic along with the Aero wheels which give it a nice look.
Defects in the body kit can be seen in the photos but it's not beyond saving. The seller states that the car runs and drives great which is helpful if you're thinking about taking it on. Unfortunately, in that same sense, the seller states the AC is not working and it does leak some power steering fluid. New parts recently installed included OEM ignition control module and new brake calipers plus pads and rotors. We appreciate that the seller notes that the odometer does actually work and provides a screen shot of the AutoCheck showing a clean history. If this car was in excellent condition aesthetically, it wouldn't surprise us to see the value double.
As with all 126 coupes, a set of euro headlights would help to clean up the appearance. We're also not sure what's going on with that exhaust but at the very least those tips need to go. An underbody photo is provided which appears very clean and no corrosion is seen on any body panels either. There is one dent in the side that will need attention to prevent rust from occurring. For those paying attention to the photos, we did notice the temperature gauge is reading high. Could just be the gauge, maybe it's the thermostat, either way we hope it hasn't ever overheated. There's obviously some questions for the seller if you're thinking about taking on this 560SEC but it could prove to be very rewarding if everything checks out.
