Auction Ending Today: 1984 500SEC

Ending this afternoon on Bring a Trailer is this 1984 500SEC. This car caught our attention last week as the auction went live and it’s made for good conversation and entertainment in typical BaT form. This W126 is nicely modified and retains a proper 80’s aesthetic. Check it out here on Bring a Trailer.

Finished in Champagne Metallic (473) over brown leather with matching carpet, door cards, dashboard, and burl wood trim, the car sits on 16” Champagne Metallic BBS RS’s to complete the look. This M117 V8 was factory-rated at 228 horsepower and 299 lb-ft of torque. Work in 2018 includes a new fuel pump and fuel filters, replacement accessory drive belts, and an ignition tune-up with new spark plugs, wires, and a cap and rotor.

This specific w126 is a grey-market import that hit US shores in 1984. It remained with the original owner until 2006. Over the years it’s been well maintained and nicely kept. The car is being offered to buyers with complete documentation, a clean carfax, and all accessories including the center-cap wrenches. As a 23k mile example, we can’t find much not to like about this one.
