Bet on Black: 1991 Mercedes-Benz 300CE with 54k Miles

Offered for sale on Craigslist out of Germantown, MD is this 1991 300CE that really caught our eye. With only 54k miles showing on the odometer and very few imperfections showing in the seller's photos, this car could be a bargain at the seller's asking price of only $7,500.

Power is provided by a 3.0-liter M104 inline-six paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission; which was perfectly peppy for the period and found throughout the E-class 300 series in the late 80s and early 1990s.

The car is finished in Black (040U) with black lower cladding and no mention of prior paintwork has been claimed by the seller; although further investigation reveals an minor accident on the Carfax indicating the car hit a concrete highway barrier in the front left. As such, proper inspection of the paint condition (or possible paintwork) is warranted.

The cabin features Gray (268) leather upholstery, wood trim, electrically-adjustable front seats with heat, a power sunroof, automatic climate control, and cruise control. Condition of the interior appears excellent if not lacking detail in the provided photos.

These cool coupes are always great to see on the road and are becoming more scarce on the marketplace with this type of mileage. Seller provides no information about the mechanical or service history on the car and is explicit about this being an "AS-IS" vehicle; so be sure to inspect mechanicals as thoroughly as possible before closing a transaction.

All in all this seems like an excellent bargain for what is slowly becoming a future classic of the early 90s.
