In the last few years countless online automotive platforms have emerged and the prospective buyer has an infinite amount of choices to make when hunting for a car. It's so easy to get caught up searching countless pages on Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace or CarGurus, even in our searches we can sometimes forget to check eBay as regularly as we should. eBay has been the standard since the beginning of online classifieds and a lot of gems can still be found. This 1990 560SEL has been on our radar for the last week and fits the description of “gem” quite nicely. It can be found here on eBay for an $11,995 buy it now price or something less before the end of the day tomorrow. -Thanks to Clint Lowery for this submission!
At first glance this presents itself very nicely in Arctic White (147) over Blue leather. Notable features include heated front and rear seats, an adjustable rear bench, and option 226- rear footrests in blue. A nice set of chrome Centra wheels (pre Ronal) and converted European headlamps accent the exterior nicely.
The listing notes that this 560SEL comes with stacks of records and documentation from a long-time MBCA enthusiast. The car has reportedly been stored inside for decades and all features seem to work. Of course it’s easy enough to ask the seller but proof of working AC and SLS would be helpful. We’re hopeful however as the car does seem well-kept including a crack-free dashboard, crack-free wood, and original floor mats.
With a day left on this auction and current bidding at $5,800(Reserve not met) this car could be a steal for someone if the reserve isn’t too high. Even if it is, we don’t think the 10-11k range is a bad deal for this W126 if it’s as nice as presented and described.
