Fresh on the heels of the unveiling of the Brabus Rocket 900 earlier this week, another equally awesome Brabus-modified Mercedes has come to market thanks to Bob Forster on Park Lane in the UK.
This example started life as an already well-equipped 2014 Mercedes-Benz E63s 4matic before being given the full Brabus treatment both inside and out. Finished from the factory in Black (040) paint over Designo Porcelain Beige interior, this example came loaded with Mercedes AMG ceramic brakes and seemingly every other option available on the W212 at the time. But that apparently wasn't enough for the original owner, not by half...
Thanks to Brabus, this already impressive AWD wagon was heavily modified by increasing the V8’s displacement from 5.5-litres to 5.9-litres. As with the new Rocket 900, this 850 wagon also got forged pistons, a custom crankshaft, custom billet connecting rods and two new high-performance turbochargers. Oh, and there was also a carbon fibre intake module, an integrated air duct under the bonnet and heat-reflecting gold in the engine bay. Sploosh.
With the addition of a reprogrammed ECU, the result is a mind-blowing 838bhp and 848 ft-lbs of torque. Even more incredible is the fact that, this Brabus-modified AMG engine was capable of producing an earth-moving 1,069lb ft-lbs of torque, but the number was capped to protect the Mercedes 7G transmission. Testing showed 3.1 seconds to 62mph and a top speed of 217mph; incredible figures for any car, let alone a W212 wagon.
In addition to a full Brabus exhaust, the German tuner also added a plethora of cosmetic mods both inside and out to make this a truly unique build. The $167,000 asking price is clearly sky-high for a W212 AMG wagon, but compared to the nearly $500,000 Rocket 900 (which doesn't outperform this wagon by much) this could be the Brabus bargain buy for some lucky buyer.
