We've mentioned our affinity for sensible time capsules right? This find comes to us from a subscriber who understands a car can be special without being "special." Recently listed for sale in Bellevue Washington, this 1999 E320 is the poster car for the pre-facelift W210 and it looks like just drove out of the showroom in 1998. It can be found listed here on Craigslist for $9,800. If this one looks familiar, it was listed on eBay a couple months ago and saw solid bids up to $9,500. It's unclear whether or not it sold but given it's still listed we're talking about it.
Finished in Smoke Silver over Beige this color combination looks best when clean and is largely innocuous when seen in the wild. The odometer shows just 26k miles on the clock and the car shows as though it has 25k less than that. The Beige interior doesn't show a single scuff or scratch and we'd bet this car could win a concours based on cleanliness and originality alone. We can go detail by detail but really, take a look at the photos.
It's offered by the first owner and comes complete with the factory window sticker, books, keys, documentation, and dealer accessories. The seller even offers the factory mounted tires to the next owner if desired, (Yes, they saved the original tires). What little maintenance the car's needed has been performed by the local dealership and is included in the documentation as well. Altogether, this is a no issues, no stories car that's nicer than most new Mercedes being sold on lots today. Somebody please grab this one and continue to keep it as nice for another 20 years.
