One of Our Own: Nicest C36 AMG on the Market

If you’ve been following us for the better part of the year you’re probably familiar with our co-founder, Ben Everest and his 1997 C36 AMG. He bought the car out of Florida in February of this year and has spent considerable time and money ensuring every detail is spot on. If you missed the video on this car halfway through the process, check it out here on our YouTube channel. Also be sure to check out the accompanying write up for this car here on The MB Market website. The car is now offered with a clean CarFax, original owner's manual, and all receipts to prove that this car is truly the nicest C36 AMG on the market.

When we last discussed the C36, Blue Ridge MB had just completed round 1 of the service with the second round to come. More than $15k later in parts and labor along with countless hours of parts hunting and dialing in, the C36 drives better than new and finally presents as a true asset. Most notably, since we last shot the car, a set of custom Bilstein B8 sport shocks and H&R springs with new perches were installed. This certainly makes for a better looking setup and we can say with conviction the car drives beautifully. From highway cruising to mountain attacks, and even errands around town the suspension setup is perfect. Other noticeable details on the car include an OEM Becker head unit that’s been rebuilt for bluetooth audio by Becker Audio & Sound, new factory C36 AMG floor mats, and even new badging on the front bumper (the piece that’s almost always missing on C36’s). The original 17" staggered AMG monoblock wheels have been professionally refinished and are wrapped in new Michelin Pilot Sport tires.

Finished in Black (040) over Black Leather, this C36 AMG displays as though it’s ready for a collection but drives as though it’s ready to tackle endless road trips and weekend drives. It's worth noting that as a 1997 (last year model C36 available), the car also received the updated 5 speed automatic transmission from the factory. No expense has been spared in the reconditioning of this car both cosmetically and mechanically to the point that we would say it’s the nicest C36 AMG on the market and most likely the nicest one to be listed in the last few years. Not many owners have the passion and drive to make a C36 new again, that’s where we differ. The car is straight out of our personal collection and has met our impeccable standards. From the work that Blue Ridge MB offers (Potentially even more particular than we are) to the immaculate photography and services offered at Gas Motorcars, this is the one to buy. Receipts for all work performed on the car are available and will accompany the car.

All this being said, it’s obvious we’re not shy about communicating how confident we are in this car and its condition. We’re also not shy about the asking price of $18,500. Considering this car will need absolutely nothing for years to come and is accompanied with receipts for everything done, mostly all from Blue Ridge MB, this is the best value w202 on the market. Values for these cars have been climbing over the years and we’re confident a bump is about to hit given the direction of the W124’s and W210’s.

The listing can be found here with Gas Motorcars in Atlanta, Georgia and is available for viewing by appointment only. This is as close as you can get to buying a new C36 AMG today. It’s not often we offer one of our personal cars like this so if anyone has any questions, please reach out to us. We’ll be happy to discuss the C36 and any details needed.
