With Mercedes' announcement of the AMG GT Black Series set for early 2021, the 6th iteration of the absolutely bonkers series now being dished out by Affalterbach (the 5th for those offered in the US), and today's feature should help hold us over until that highly anticipated due date arrives. Found on FB Marketplace in Summit, NJ this 2012 Mercedes C63 AMG Black Series is one of just 800 cars produced globally, and one of less than 100 cars delivered to North America.
Originally delivered to Canada, this particular C63 was imported to the U.S by the current seller in 2017, and is being offered with all proper documentation and customs clearance surrounding the import. Finished in highly desirable Designo pruduced Magno Alanite (044) over a two-tone Black/Anthracite Alcantara interior (741A), this W204 is equipped with all three of the optional AMG Aerodynamics, Carbon Fiber, and Track Packages, making this one of the most highly optioned C63 Black Series on the market.
The seller notes a few minor blemishes commensurate to 28,000 miles of driving exposure including a scratch on one of the headlight washer covers, some scraping underneath the front bumper, and a small blemish on the rear diffuser. Truthfully we are surprised to see such few blemishes, given that these cars were tuned to extract 510bhp from the 6.2L V8 M156, and put down just over 457 lb-ft of torque. Likely saved by the fact that AMG re-designed these cars with a widened track and body flares capable of housing 255/35 19 inch tires up front, and 285/30's in the rear, keeping these cars (somewhat) planted to the pavement.
Original MSRP for these special W204's was somewhere in the vicinity of $125,000 when new depending on how they were outfitted. At the current ask of $85,000 with the option of either the OEM wheels or a set of HRE FF04's (we would certainly encourage going for the OEM set), it is certainly priced towards the higher end of the current market for what we've seen these trade for. However, we are certain you are getting no less of an exhilarating driving experience from when the car was new, and certainly not to the tune of $40,000 less of an ownership experience. In fact, we believe these cars are inherently undervalued in the current market, and should be seen as an opportunity to enjoy one of the most thrilling and rare Mercedes-Benz's ever produced, without breaking the bank on the back end.
