For sale here on Autotrader from one of our instagram followers in Yuma, AZ is a brilliantly modified 2018 E63s wagon that really pushes the new W213 platform to its limits.
The W213 was a significant upgrade to the oft-maligned W212 platform for the venerable E-class. Nowhere was this total re-imagining more obvious than in the E63 AMG variants of the model line. Announced in November 2016 for the 2017 model year, the Mercedes-AMG E 63 4MATIC+ and AMG E 63 S 4MATIC+ received the AMG M177 twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 in two tuning iterations and with fully variable all-wheel-drive. The standard AMG E 63 4MATIC+ offers 563 hp that launches the car to 60mph 3.5 seconds. The AMG E 63 S 4MATIC+ has same powertrain but with higher output rate of 612 HP; launching it to 60mph in just 3.4 seconds. Both versions are electronically limited to 155 mph, however this was increased to 186 mph with the AMG Driver's Package, as here.
The M177 is paired with a nine-speed AMG Speedshift MCT 9G transmission and an AMG Performance 4Matic+ variable all-wheel drive system that also includes a rear-axle locking differential. You get a “drift mode” on the E 63 S that can be activated in Race mode, which makes the car become purely rear-wheel drive without ESP support.
This particular example is loaded with factory options such as:

- U78 AMG Performance Exhaust System
- 463 Heads-Up Display
- 521 Amg Night Package
- 773 AMG Exterior Carbon Fiber Package
- And, of course the AMG Driver's Package (as signified by the "S" in the model designation"
If all of that weren't enough, the owner has made significant performance modifications to really unleash all the beast in this example. The seller has performed modifications bringing dyno numbers up to 677bhp and 723 ft-lbs of torque to the wheels, and an estimated 800bhp to the flywheel! The seller claims that this wagon does 0-60 consistently in the 2.8 second range and he has plenty of dragstrip receipts to prove it on his instagram page. In order to make the most of these mods, this example has the desirable launch control and drift mode options enabled as well.
Further upgrades include Brixton Forged 21 HS1 DUO series, two-piece monoblock wheels in Forged Bronze Satin, a set of Michelin pilot Sport 4s tires, (305/25-21 rear, 275/30-21 front) with 600 undoubtedly hard miles on them. The car also features BMC intake filters, down pipes, a muffler delete, dyno-tuned ECU, lowering module, ceramic IR tint, ceramic coated paintwork and a set of carbon fiber grill and air inlets (not installed).
Obviously, this wagon is not for the faint of heart in terms of performance or warranty coverage, but its hard not to applaud the current owner for not only taking this already insane platform to its theoretical performance limits, but using the car as intended and laying all that power to the road. A cursory review of his instagram page shows a wealth of video and photo evidence that this car was thoroughly enjoyed and can perform up to the expectations of any AMG addict.
While some might call these modifications (and prior "enthusiastic" usage) may be a detractor from a value standpoint, that's a decision left up to the individual. We love this wagon and applaud the owner for living his best AMG life with this marvel.
While the asking price of $108,000 is certainly higher than any other 2018 E63S Wagon showing comparable miles, the modifications are no-doubt an expensive list of additions. Whether or not buyers feel inclined to subtract from the price for the spirited use of those modifications over its 25k-mile life, is entirely up to them. Ultimately, whomever buys this unique build will be no doubt left with one of the fastest and most aggressive AMG wagons we've ever come across.
