This 2002 Mercedes-Benz S430 is currently being offered from sale from one of our readers, Andy Mills (@millsthrills81 on Instagram). The car shows a very low 17k miles on the odometer and presents as such in the photos provided. Currently, the car is located in Portland, Oregon for those needing to calculate shipping costs. Originally purchased by the grandfather of the current owner, the vehicle is technically a two-owner, single-family owned car since new. The W220 market has come back very strong over that last year, especially for AMG specs and outstandingly low mileage examples such as this S430. The S-Class of any era has always proven to be one of the most comfortable driving experiences available. For this reason, the vast majority are loaded up with miles and the second-hand market can be dicey depending on previous maintenance history and options for any given W220. This particular example is certainly in rare air today and is a huge value proposition in comparison to other comparable luxury yachts.
The car is finished in Obsidian Black Metallic (197) over Java Nappa Leather (234). The leather appears to be in excellent condition with almost no noticeable wear, even on the driver's side bolster. The woodgrain also shows to have retained it's glossy finish with no cracking or fading at all. In the pictures, we can see OEM all-weather floor mats installed which greatly help in preserving the factory carpet mats, especially in lighter colors such as this.
This 2002 S430 shows 17,578 miles which equates to less than 1k miles per year. This car wears the factory 16x7.5 chrome wheels very well being a non-sport version, retaining a stately presence from all angles. There's no ABC to service with this car as it's optioned with air-matic. The car is optioned with a rear sunshade, COMAND, and Harman Kardon Logic 7 surround sound system.
While this isn't a fire-breathing AMG version, it is an extremely well-kept W220 with a peppy V8, rear-wheel-drive, and long wheelbase. Oh yes, and 17k pampered miles. The M113 4.3L was rated at 275 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque when new and is known for it's reliability and longevity. The car has always been serviced at a Mercedes-Benz dealership according to the seller which we can only see as another positive for this car. The seller's asking price of $14k seems well within the reasonable limits for a car of this stature and its mileage.
